The long weekend of September, brings the start of the school year. My kids are excited to head back to school and meet up with their friends. I'm glad a routine will soon return to what has been a very busy summer season.
Although the summer was busy, we did manage to have a fantastic summer vacation. We also spent time with family and friends. I even spent time being crafty! Some of my crafty friends have been trying out the SHE Art workshops. Of course, I'm intrigued! Something new to try! So that's what I did. I looked it up. Figured out some techniques. And gave it a go!
Here's the first one I did.
Lots of trial and error.... not the right writing pen..... got to let the layers dry more..... need to go buy some Staz-on!!! It was still real fun!
Here's another one I did today.
I took my time for this one, thinking it through. I didn't have any books to rip up, so I photocopied from the dictionary.
I had patterned tissue paper. That would be the butterflies you see.
I really enjoyed making these. You can use pretty much any thing you have laying around to add texture and really define the canvas. I raided my storage area and only came up with some bubble rap and a few stencils and stamps. I'll need to get some other things in order to add more texture next time.
Thanks for stopping by. I would really like to know what you think of these projects. Maybe you'll try your hand at it and share it with me too!
Have a great back to school week!!
Iso =)
